This page is dedicated to the 2007 Whitsuntide Festival, which took place on Saturday 2nd June.

You can check out all the photos on our Photo Gallery page.

There had been a lot of concerned watching of weather forecasts and skies in the few days leading up to the Festival, with a band of heavy rain forecast passing over on Festival Day. As it was, we didn't need to worry at all - it couldn't have been a better day.

The weather was not the only thing that went brilliantly.

The new Festival Queen for 2007-2008, Sally Calder wore the train made by her Grandma for a previous Goosnargh & Whittingham Queen. Her attendants were dressed in matching blue and cream, with her young crown-bearer Nathan in a linen suit.

This year saw record numbers of decorated floats, and it was obvious just how much effort and imagination had gone into putting them together. The Birkby family had completely transformed their car into an amazing Hogwarts Express, and both Goosnargh Oliverson's and St Francis Hill Chapel schools had fantastic floats.

The larger number of floats and an equally large number of fancy dress entries meant that this year's procession had 17 entries overall.

Music in various forms was provided by the Bolton Scottish Pipe Band, the Eclipse Parade Band, the Lancashire Youth Jazz Orchestra and this year for the first time Goosnargh's own up and coming Empire State (you saw them here first).

Results of the judging are as follows. Due to the large numbers of entries, the Decorated Floats Competition was separated into two groups:
